What is the location of Camping Passeler like?
The location is quiet and sunny, surrounded by apple orchards and framed by mountains at the foot of the Hirzer hiking area, accessible by cable car (2000 m). The campsite is located along the Passer River and a bike path runs right past it, leading to Merano (9 km) and St. Leonhard (10 km).
How do I get to Camping Passeler?
Arrival at Camping Passeler
By car: from Merano (coming from Reschen Pass or Brenner Pass via Bolzano) follow the SS44 state road in the Passeier Valley towards Jaufen Pass. The exit for Saltaus is about 9 km from Merano. The campsite is located just after the entrance to the village, below the Hirzer cable car valley station.
From Sterzing (coming from Brenner): cross the SS44 via Jaufen Pass to Saltaus in Passeier Valley. The Jaufen Pass is open all year round, but may be temporarily closed for weather reasons or during the night. (No transit for all vehicles with trailers over 4.50 m).
It is advisable to cross the passes only with small campers and please note that the road is partly very narrow.
By public transport:
- By train: to Merano main station.
- By bus: from Merano station you can take line 240 to Passeier Valley; during summer it stops in the immediate vicinity of the campsite.
- By bicycle: the campsite is located directly along the Passeier Valley cycle path.
When is the campsite open?
We are usually open from mid-March to mid-November (exact dates are shown on the website).

Yes, we have an outdoor pool with a separate children's area, open during the summer season.

We accept vehicles of various sizes. For very large vehicles, please contact us in advance to check the availability of suitable pitches.
Is there electricity at the pitches?
Yes, all pitches have electrical connection.
Where can I empty grey/black water?
We have a dedicated service area for emptying grey and black water and for fresh water supply.
Can I reserve a specific pitch?
We do our best to accommodate specific requests, but we cannot always guarantee a particular pitch.
Is there a supermarket in the campsite?
We have a small shop with basic necessities. For a wider selection, there are supermarkets in Saltaus and Merano.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept cash, credit cards (Visa, Mastercard) and debit cards.
Is there a laundry service?
Yes, we have coin-operated washing machines and dryers available for guests.
Can I receive mail at the campsite?
Yes, it is possible to receive mail. Use our address and specify your name and pitch number.

The nearest hospital is in Merano (9 km). There are also general practitioners in Saltaus.

Are there rules about noise?
Yes, we observe quiet hours from 10:00 PM to 7:00 AM to ensure rest for all guests.

Visitors are welcome during the day. Please register them at reception. A small fee may apply for use of facilities.
